Changable Spring Pattern with Passing Shots of Powder

Summary

Tuesday saw 90mm of rain at Perisher before 5cm of fresh snow. Showers clear Wednesday for a sunny Thursday, then wet, windy weather Friday. A cold change brings 5–15cm Saturday, with snow turning to rain low Sunday before fresh snow arrives that night.

Forecast for Wednesday 17th & Thursday 18th September

Wednesday clears to partly cloudy as strong winds ease, while Thursday is mostly sunny with some cloud in Victoria and northwest winds.

Forecast for Friday 19th to Sunday 21st September

A strong front moves across Victoria and New South Wales on Friday, bringing showers, possible thunderstorms, and a cold westerly change that turns rain to snow overnight. Saturday sees fresh snow showers adding 5–15 cm, with cold westerly winds gradually easing. On Sunday, snow turns wetter at lower elevations as snow levels rise, with heavier rain and high-level snow arriving at night under shifting northwest winds.

Extended Forecast

Sunday night’s front will bring a cold change and fresh snow on Monday (22nd September), with another potential storm later in the week still uncertain.
