A Shot of Powder & Cold Temps this Weekend, Then Settled

Summary

After a light snowfall, skies cleared Thursday. A front will cross Friday night, bringing rain and snow to mid and high levels, then showers to low levels through Saturday, totaling 5–15 cm, with 5–10 cm more higher up. A weak system Sunday will add a dusting before high pressure settles in Monday.

Short Term Forecast

Forecast for Friday 15th to Sunday 17th August

A front will bring strengthening northwesterlies and rain with mid-to-upper level snow Friday, followed by snow showers lowering to base levels Saturday morning, leaving 5–15 cm of fresh powder. A weak low Sunday will bring some cloud and light snow showers as winds ease and turn southerly.

Forecast for Monday 18th & Tuesday 19th August

Monday and Tuesday will be sunny and calm, with lingering clouds clearing Monday and light southerly breezes easing.

Extended Forecast

High pressure should keep conditions settled until a weak system may bring rain Friday, 22nd August, with the next storm possible early the following week.
