Weak Storm Tuesday Night, Stronger Storm & Snow Hits Friday night

Summary

Clear, settled weather continues through Tuesday, with snow guns running at night. A weak front brings light rain and high snow Tuesday night into Wednesday. Thursday will be sunny before strong northwesterlies and a Friday evening front bring rain, high snow, then weekend snow showers as cold air arrives.

Short Term Forecast

Forecast for Monday 11th August to Wednesday 13th August

Monday will be calm and sunny, with Tuesday starting fine before high cloud and northwesterlies bring light rain after dark, turning to snow above 1700–1800m. Wednesday sees lingering high-level flurries in some resorts, clearing for sunshine elsewhere.

Forecast for Thursday 14th & Friday 15th August

Thursday will be sunny with easing southerlies and a late northwesterly, while Friday turns cloudy with strengthening warm northwesterlies ahead of a front.

Extended Forecast

Snow showers may continue through the weekend into Monday 18th August with another possible front, likely giving at least a small quality powder top-up.
