Cool & Mostly Dry into Thurs / Major Pattern Change Begins Friday

Summary

Slowly eroding high pressure, along with a strong NW flow aloft, will keep the Northern Rockies cool and dry (with a few exceptions) through Thursday. A trough of low pressure with origins in the Arctic will break the dominant ridge of high pressure by late Thursday. A cold and unsettled pattern will then commence from Friday into next weekend. Light to moderate accumulations are possible.
