First Big Winter Storm buries the Beartooth’s
Summary
A closed low-pressure system circulating to the south of Montana brought wave after wave of moisture that pounded the eastern front of the Beartooth Mountains Wednesday/Thursday. Red Lodge reported 2-day storm totals of over a foot at their base lodge (7400’) with close to 20” on the upper mountain. Big Sky, on the western fringe of the storm pulled in 3 – 5”. Fall weather returns this weekend.
