More snow and rain Wednesday and Thursday

Summary

A few lake effect snow showers affect the northern Mid-Atlantic Tuesday. A large storm system will bring an initial burst of moderate snow in most areas of the Mid-Atlantic Wednesday. Warm air moves in Wednesday night, changing precipitation to rain. Backside cold air will end precipitation as snow, and develop lake effect/upslope snow showers on Thursday and Friday.
