All ski areas in Alberta have closed for the season due to COVID-19 virus situation. As for skinning/uphill access at the ski resorts, some are allowing it and some are not. Please contact your local mountain or check their website or social media feeds for the latest information. If you decide to skin at resorts that allow it, please practice common sense of social distancing and avoid gathering in large crowds. Please see the “Announcements” section below for OpenSnow’s position on backcountry travel related to the COVID-19 situation and its possible stress on local first responders, health centers, and communities. Also - please check the Parks Canada Avalanche website (also listed in "Announcements") for the latest in avalanche forecasts for the areas within the National Parks before heading out.
