Terrain Parks: Discovery Park, Sudden Drop and Arwine's Jump Line are all open today!   Events: Intro to Backcountry Touring: Offered Daily March 27th, 28th, and 29th, learn the essentials of backcountry travel in a beginner-friendly setting in this three-hour clinic. Nachtspektakel:On March 28th from 4-9PM tour under the stars indulge in tasty food & drink, hang out around the fire, and revel with other like-minded individuals. Then slide down the mountain in complete darkness, guided only by the stars and your headlamp! Avalanche Awareness Night:On March 27th from 4-6pm the experts from the Northwest Avalanche Center will guide us through the curriculum while relating information specific to the Crystal Mountain area. This free class provides a basic approach to managing risk in winter sports. Junior Ski Patrol:On March 29th, young girls will learn mountain safety and first aid while working with the strong members of the ski patrol community. This event is intended for intermediate to expert skiers/snowboarders ages 8 - 17 who identify as female. Notes for today: $199 Spring 3-Day Passesare on sale now! Mild air is seeping into the region as a weak upper-level ridge nestles over the Cascades, strengthening through this evening. A calm, clear night will deliver a solid overnight freeze, setting the stage for a classic diurnal cycle on Friday. The morning starts chilly, but that powerful March sun will start putting in work the moment it hits the slopes. With light winds offering little cooling relief, expect corn o’clock before noon! Fortunately, temps look to stay reasonable enough to keep the snow from getting too sloppy, making Friday a prime day for spring laps. Uphill travel may be prohibited at any time as mountain operations teams conduct avalanche mitigation. Refer to the "No Uphill Travel" lights around the base area and the Mountain Report page indicating the status of the designated route. These lights are located by the Gondola trail map, at the bottom of Chinook, at the bottom of Discovery, and at the top of the Quicksilver lift shack.
